In April 2024, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) awarded Initial Accreditation to the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. The program is sponsored by Baptist Memorial Medical Education in Memphis, Tennessee.
In March 2025, we proudly matched all 12 PGY-1 positions for our inaugural class. We again matched all 12 PGY-1 positions for our second class in March 2026, who are now beginning their intern year. Our residents look forward to actively participating in the recruitment and mentorship of future team members.
We continue to offer 12 PGY-1 positions annually through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) Main Residency Match, with applications accepted exclusively through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Eligibility
We will consider applicants who require J-1 visa sponsorship through the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
At the time of entry into the residency training program, the candidate must be one of the following:
- A citizen of the United States
- A permanent resident
- Or, hold a valid J-1 visa status
